What you will learn

Gain real insight into how a live studio runs.

Our courses follow the journey of a bulletin from an empty floor to a polished broadcast, covering every discipline a studio crew relies on.

  • Studio equipment setup

Plan the floor, rig the cameras, route cables safely and check signal flow before the red light goes on.

  • Dynamic camera operation

Learn smooth pans, tracking moves and clean framing so every shot supports the story on air.

  • Lighting and sound waves

Balance key, fill and backlight, then capture clear, consistent audio from presenters and guests.

Got some more questions?

Question #1Do I need broadcast experience to join a course?

No. Studio Foundations is designed for newcomers, while the Live Production Intensive suits people who already work around cameras, sound or lighting and want to build confidence.

Question #2Where do the courses take place?

Sessions run in working studio spaces across the UK. Newsroom Team Programmes can also be delivered at your own studio so the training fits your real equipment.

Question #3How many people are in each cohort?

We cap hands-on cohorts at eight learners so everyone gets time on the cameras, the lighting desk and the audio console.

Question #4Can you train a whole newsroom team together?

Yes. Team programmes are built around your bulletins and your running orders, and cover camera, lighting, sound and gallery communication.

Question #5How do I reserve a place?

Send us a message through the contacts page. We will confirm dates, answer your questions and hold your place.
